Learning doesn’t stop at Little Jewels Learning Center, even when school’s out! In the summer months, we offer kids an exciting and educational summer camp. Field trips are provided at no additional cost to our Little Jewels families. Our camp is designed to provide a safe environment where your child can try new things and develop confidence, independence, and social skills. There’s never a shortage of things to do at our summer program. If you’re looking for a camp that will keep your child actively learning this season, Little Jewels is the place to be!
Children enrolled in our summer camp will venture out on daily field trips to different places within the community. They will participate in a variety of fun activities while also practicing skills from the school year to keep their minds sharp. Each year, our kids work on a unique summer-long project. In the past, children have prepared Shark Tank-style presentations, completed green screen projects, designed their own board games, and so much more. Kids can’t wait to come back to camp, because every day is a new adventure!
At Little Jewels, we understand the value of reading and the significant role it plays in child development. Reading stimulates the imagination and helps to develop children’s listening and language skills, which can set them up for academic success in later years. This is why we give your child the opportunity to take part in the Bloomington or Normal Public Library summer reading program where they can explore different stories and earn prizes in the process!
Your child can also exercise the creative part of their brain by getting involved in a theater program put on by a theater company in our community! The kids work together to put on a play for their families and peers in the middle of the summer. They can choose to have speaking roles, help with costumes, work on the set, or join the tech team. Each week they will practice and learn about the play leading up to the performance.
